• Independence Day!

    July 04, 2013

    Hi friends,

Tomorrow is a beary big day for us in the United States, it’s Independence Day, or as some people like to call it, the Fourth of July! Most people will celebrate by watching parades with friends and family, going to fairs or carnivals, barbequing, maybe going to the pool and then watching fireworks at night. I always watch our neighborhood parade with my family, and a lot of the people who live on the road that the parade goes down have parties at their house afterwards or they put up chairs and tables all over their yards like a theater.  It’s kind of a big deal.

I think my favorite part of the parade is when the high school marching band comes by. I can’t wait to be in the marching band. I love hearing the marching drums from really far away, they’re so loud! I play piano right now, but obviously I can’t play the piano and march at the same time. So I will hopefully be learning flute, or maybe even piccolo! The piccolo is that tiny little flute-looking instrument. You hold it the same way as a flute, sideways, and my dad always says the piccolo gets the coolest part of the real marching songs. Plus, I feel like it probably wouldn’t be that much work to hold up and march with because it’s so tiny. So yeah, I think I’ll claim piccolo, when the time comes.

    Happy 4th of July!

  • Cody Simpson Koala

    June 26, 2013

    Hello there, readers,

I am so excited! I heard that Cody Simpson Koala is coming out in Build-A-Bear Workshop stores on Friday and I totally can’t wait. Don’t you think it’s a totally cute koala? Plus, you should see the fashions that it comes with, they are so Cody Simpson’s style. I think it rocks!

That’s not the only cool thing coming up. Canada Day is on Monday, July 1! It’s just like celebrating Canada’s birthday, so there are lots of celebrations and a lot of people have the day off to take part in them. There are fairs and carnivals and parades and fireworks, and friends and family usually get together at some point to have barbeques and picnics outside. If I were celebrating it, I would definitely have a huge party and invite all my neighbors and friends. What could be a better way to celebrate your country’s birthday than having fun with the people you love in the country you love? Right?

    See ya next time!

  • Growing season

    June 12, 2013

    What’s up?

Father’s Day is Sunday, June 16. Are you going to celebrate with your family? We usually spend some extra time with dad in the garden or make him a pawsome dinner or something like that.

My dad has made a totally amazing garden this year. And when I say totally amazing, I mean, usually, he puts in neat rows of lettuce, tomatoes, broccoli, and on and on. But this year he organized his garden into really pretty little sections separated by wood chips and mulch and he is even making a big cage for his tomatoes. For some reason, rabbits, squirrels and birds all love tomatoes. I mean, I guess I can understand because they are pretty delicious, but it’s kind of annoying when you work really hard to grow something so delicious and healthy then find little bites have been taken out of all of them so you can’t even eat them. So, that’s why he made a big cage, because it makes it easier to protect the tomatoes and we can still get to them pretty easily to pick them. I am super impressed.

The best part is, I get to be his harvest helper, so I get to help pick everything and prepare it for eating. Yum!

    Talk to ya later!
