So, my first babysitting class was today after school. I learned how to do CPR on an adult and on a baby. I also learned how to take care of little cuts. Plus, I got a binder with all kinds of great information in it, like the phone number to Poison Control, which is what you call in case someone has swallowed chemicals or got something in their eye.
I’m so surprised by how much there is to know before you can babysit! I mean, I thought you could just go over to someone’s house and play with their kids. But you really have to be in charge!
I’ll feel so much better when I start babysitting with all of this information. I’m so glad my mom is making me do it first.
Have fun doing whatever you’re planning to do this weekend!

I really want a tablet, and with my weekly allowance for chores, I’m never going to save up enough. So I asked my mom what else I could do and she said, “Well, at your age, I started babysitting. I don’t see why you couldn’t start that now.” I’m so psyched!
She said I have to take a class first so I know what to do in emergencies and stuff. I understand why, because I want to make sure I can actually help if something happens. In the class I’ll learn basic first aid stuff, and I’ll also learn a little bit about kids and what toys and foods they can have and still be safe.
I’m so excited! Tablet here I come!
Peace out guys!

I hope everyone gets used to Daylight Savings time soon! I like the fall better than the spring because we gain an hour of sleep: fall back, spring forward! It’s much easier to get used to having an extra hour than it is to losing one.
Mostly, Daylight Savings time only takes place in the United States, Canada and Europe. It started a looooooooooong time ago! The idea was that it would save energy and electricity if people were awake when the sun was up and asleep when the sun was down. But now that we all have so many lights in our houses it doesn’t really matter if we’re awake when the sun is up or not.
Oh well. I’ll never complain about an extra hour of sleep!
