• Helping the birds!

    January 09, 2012

    Hey guys,

Over the weekend, I babysat my neighbor’s kids. They are 6 and 8 year old girls. I watched them for a couple of hours on Saturday afternoon. It was just enough time to make a bird feeder for their yard, and it’s something you can do too!

Look for a pine cone in your yard or ask your parents where to find one. With a parent’s help, cut some string, any kind will work, about 18 inches, or a foot and a half long. Tie it around the top of the pinecone so you can hang it from a tree. Then, get a spoon and spread peanut butter all over the pinecone. The peanut butter is like your glue, since it’s edible and not harmful to animals. Next, you need to roll the pinecone in birdseed and voila! You’ve just made a delicious bird feeder. The birds in your neighborhood will love it! Did you know that food can be hard for birds to find in the winter? It’s nice to make them something they will love!

    Have fun!

  • Huggable Heroes calendar!

    January 04, 2012

    Hello everyone!

Now that the New Year has officially begun, don’t forget to stop by any Build-A-Bear Workshop store to pick up your copy of the annual Huggable Heroes wall calendar. It’s free with any purchase and there is tons of cool stuff in it! It has coupons you can use or give to a friend. It even has some fun Bearville™ codes!

I love this calendar because it reminds me of the amazing young people that are making a huge difference in their communities and in the world! I got to meet them last summer and let me tell you, they are very inspiring kids. They all said that the way to start giving back is by doing something small and letting it grow. You learn a new story about one of the 2012 Huggable Heroes every month!

It’s easy to make a difference! Helping others rocks.

    Peace out,

  • Happy New Year!

    January 02, 2012

    Welcome to 2012 everyone!

I don’t have to go back to school until Wednesday, so I’m helping mom clean the house today. We had a New Year’s Eve celebration and I had a couple of my friends over to spend the night. She let us all sleep in yesterday but today we have to clean. That’s okay though. I made a New Year’s resolution to start keeping my room clean all the time. Sounds like a big job, but if I just pick things up every day then it should be easy.

What kind of New Year’s resolutions did you make? Some people make resolutions to eat healthier; some people’s resolutions are to keep in touch with family more often. Other than cleaning my room, I want to start having a weekly family night where my family eats dinner together and plays a game. Since everything gets so busy these days it will be nice to just have one day when my family can come together to hang out and relax with each other.

I hope you have a great start to 2012!

    Talk to you later!
