What’s up, peeps?
OMG! School is finally over! I’ll totally miss my teachers and definitely all my BFFs, but most of all, I’m looking forward to an awesome summer. My family is going on vacation to Yellowstone National Park. Best part? We’re driving the whole way. I know that probably sounds kinda boring, but road trips rock.
Ever since I was little, my family has always taken road trips. I’ve seen a lot of really cool things that I never would have known about if I had flown instead. Did you know there really are goats that climb mountains? It’s crazy! They just roam around high on cliffs, cliffs that a human would never be able to climb. It’s awesome. Also, did you know that double rainbows really do exist? Yup, I mean the kind of rainbows that have two sets of colors. Double rainbows go red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet TWICE! I could go on, but I’ll let you find out at least some cool stuff on your own road trips.
Keep it real!
Reuniting with all of our friends!
May 16, 2012
Since we’re celebrating making over 100 Million furry friends since we opened our beary first store in 1997 this year, we thought it would be totally pawsome if all our friends could reunite! So we are going to have a Friends Reunion in all of our stores May 24-27! Get a parent to RSVP with you at buildabear.com/rsvp. If you RSVP, you can get a special Friends Reunion tiny tee when you bring your furry friend with you on this special weekend!
We can’t wait to see you there!
Catch ya later!
Sand castle craft
May 14, 2012
Since it’s getting warmer I’ve been thinking about the beach a lot. Have you? I really want to go to the beach this summer, but I might not be able to. So I am bringing back a sandy craft that I showed you last summer. Even though this craft involves sand, it’s not messy!
All you need are some scissors, different kinds of sandpaper, which you can find at hardware stores, some cool background paper and whatever stickers or other little things you want to decorate it. Draw on the back of the sandpaper and use scissors you don’t care about ruining (because cutting sandpaper makes them dull, make sure you aren’t using your mom’s favorite scissors. You should probably ask first.) After cutting out the castle parts, use scrapbooking foam squares to arrange the castle how you want it on the paper. Then you can decorate it! You can even go a totally different direction and put a dragon on it, and cut out a blue moat (the river that runs around a castle) around it. And you can add a drawbridge and maybe even a princess letting down her long shining locks from high in the tower!
Have fun, friends!
